2027 S/S Loungewear Trend
The 2027 S/S loungewear season is defined by three directions: Quiet Utility, fluid silk fabrics, and precisely placed Leavers lace. Less decoration, more intention. Here is what that means for brands building a homewear collection this season.

Homewear is no longer just what you wear to bed. In 2027, it is what you wear when you want to feel like yourself, at home, between places, or anywhere the day takes you without needing to try too hard.

This season, the loudest statement in loungewear is quiet.

Quiet Utility, Liquid Surface, and Graphic Lace – three directions that are re-shaping how brands think about comfort, fabric, and detail. Whether you are building your first sleepwear collection or expanding an existing line, understanding where the market is heading gives you a real advantage before bulk decisions are made.

Here is what 2027 S/S looks like, and what it means for your brand.

What This Season Is Really About

Loungewear in 2027 is not trying harder. It is trying less, and that is the point.

The mood this season sits somewhere between getting dressed and staying in. Not decorative. Not performative. Just well-made, considered, and quietly sensual. The industry has a name for it: Quiet Utility. And it is showing up everywhere, from the showroom floors of Première Vision Paris to the runways feeding into next year’s homewear collections.

It is about structure, worn beneath layers, peeking out from tailoring, becoming something almost architectural. It creates depth without demanding focus. That same logic carries directly into 2027 homewear.

The question for brands building a sleepwear or loungewear collection right now is not “what is trending.” It is: which of these directions actually fits your customer, and how do you build it properly from fabric through to trim?

Direction 01: Quiet Utility

This translates into three design attitudes for the season:

Soft structure. Generous silhouettes with just enough shape. Think wrap-style tops with a drawstring waist, wide-leg pants with an elasticated waistband. Nothing sculptural. Nothing stiff.

Clean sensuality. Fewer motifs. Stronger materials. More air around each look. The lace is there, but it does not shout.

Direction 02: Liquid Surface — The Fabric Story

Silk is the anchor fabric for this season. Not heavy, not overly glossy, fluid, breathable and polished.

Three silk constructions are driving the conversation right now:

Charmeuse. The classic choice for shirt sets and soft robes. It has a fluid front-face shine with a matte back, which means it photographs beautifully and drapes without effort. At PassionWorks, charmeuse is one of our most requested fabrics for both ODM and OEM projects.

Sandwashed silk. This is the one gaining the most ground for 2027. The sandwashing process gives silk a slightly broken-in surface, softer, less formal, more lived-in. It sits at the intersection of luxury and ease, which is exactly where this loungewear season lives.

Direction 03: Graphic Leavers — The Trim Story

For 2027 loungewear, that means:

Placement over coverage. Narrow lace at cuffs, robe hems, side slits and neckline edges. The percentage of lace on the garment stays low. The line stays precise. One well-placed strip of Leavers lace on a cuff does more than an allover trim.

Three lace approaches worth knowing:

  • Eyelash edge, the softest finish, works well on necklines
  • Tonal net, the lace matches the base fabric colour, creating a subtle graphic effect
  • Clean insert, set into the seam or hem as a structured band, not a ruffle

At PassionWorks, we work with Leavers lace on both ODM base designs and OEM client briefs. Placement and scale decisions are something we work through with you during the sampling stage.

Direction 04: Shadow Botanicals — The Print Story

Three print approaches define the direction:

  • Blurred botanical. Soft-focus leaves and stems in low contrast. The print reads as texture from a distance. Up close, there is detail.
  • Quiet stripe. Thin, slightly asymmetric lines for pajama sets. Not the classic equal-width stripe, something with more irregularity and less precision.
  • Micro mesh and lace shadow. Tiny dot structures or lace-inspired repeat patterns replacing the traditional polka dot. Modern and unexpected.

What This Means If You Are Building a Collection

These three directions, Quiet Utility, Liquid Surface, and Graphic Leavers, are not independent choices. The strongest loungewear collections for 2027 will combine all three: the right silhouette in the right fabric with lace placed exactly where it needs to be.

If you are starting a loungewear line or expanding into this category, the decisions that matter most are fabric weight, lace placement, and silhouette ease. Everything else follows from those three..

PassionWorks manufactures across all three fabric types covered in this report and works with multiple Leavers lace suppliers. If you want to discuss how these trends translate into a production brief, reach out to the team directly.
